LESSONS Beginners: We went over the solutions to the pin problems Advanced:  We went over the idea of deflection and discussed the solutions to the worksheet problems. TOURNAMENTS Next tournament is Oct 16 at the Burnsville Diamondhead Educational Center. For more information and to register go to www.schoolchess.org. If you go, expect to play five games in the 3rd through 5th section or four games if you are in 6th through 8th grade. Each round you will play against someone with the same, or similar record. Example: if you lose your first two games, in round 3 you will play someone who also lost their first two games. Beginner group studied forks Older kids were at a science outing. UPCOMING TOURNAMENT Next Saturday, Oct 19, at the Diamondhead Educational Center in Burnsville, anyone woh would like to may participate in a chess tournament against children your own age from across the Twin Cities.
